Bromley Mtn hike 7/11
Today, with excellent hiking weather and drying out trail footing, 9 of us and one dog hiked from Mad Tom Notch south on the Long Trail over Bromley Mtn and down to Rt 11/30.
The view from the top was great. We met numerous hikers - many of them Long Trail or Appalachian Trail hikers, but also a large number of day hikers just out for the day.

Two bipeds and three quadrupeds hiked the Healdville Trail to the summit fire tower on Mt. Okemo in Ludlow. This three mile long trail with 2,000 feet of elevation gain was completed by the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps in 1996. The trail even has switchbacks! We made it to the summit in one hour and thirty-five minutes and after snacks under the fir trees returned to the trailhead in the same time span.

View from the summit fire tower. I think it is looking east.
